A well-established, Australian owned and managed company specialising in adhesive tapes, is seeking a Machine Operator to join their progressive and successful team.

Responsibilities:

  • Machine operation to meet Company requirements and customer specifications/requirements
  • Check final product produced by machine for quality
  • Monitor machines for problems that may arise so that quality and performance are maintained
  • Troubleshoot basic machine problems and quality issues
  • Check raw materials for quality before loading into machine, while also ensuring the rotation of inventory so that oldest stock is used first
  • Prepare tooling for changeovers and perform machine changeovers
  • Operating and setting machinery within a zone whilst being accountable for several pieces of equipment, ensuring they are H&S compliant, at a set standard and identifying when they are not.
  • Understanding the cause for any drops in standards with machinery, along with the impact of this and how to rectify issues
  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to produce products that meet company specifications
  • Make sure all materials are loaded into the machine in a quick, efficient manner so that downtime is limited
  • To ensure all slit product is packed in cartons, labelled, and sealed before the end of each shift
  • Clean machine and work area free from debris at the end of each shift
  • Complete production reports after each line is complete
  • Follow all safe work practices
  • Assist in Warehouse when required
  • Perform any other duties as directed by Production Manager
  • Attend to despatch customers if no-one else in the vicinity to uphold service levels

Experience/Skills required:

  • Previous Machine Operating experience ideally and/or willing to be trained
  • Customer Service orientated
  • Clear communication skills 
  • Ability to take instruction
  • A positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Attention to detail/accurate
  • Punctuality, flexibility and honesty 
  • Self-motivated
  • Reliable and committed
  • A solid work ethic
  • Physically fit (some heavy lifting involved)
  • The ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Clean drivers licence
  • Forklift licence an advantage

 Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 9am – 5pm 

Hourly Rate: $35 (depending on experience)
