Our client is a well respected commercial concrete company with a large pipeline of work.
They mainly build multi story apartment buildings, nursing homes and schools.
They are seeking a Project Manager experienced in Concrete Construction to join their successful and motivated team.
Based in Carrum Downs the majority of the work is in the Highett, Carnegie, Bentleigh and Mornington Peninsula.
Duties include but will not be limited to:
- Programming of activities / tasks
- Site labour management promoting positive behaviours
- Implement safety and ensure OH&S procedures are followed
- Reading plans, planning & implementing clear step by step process for effective site set-up at each stage
- Preparing progress claims
- Managing variations in a cost effective manner and seeking client approval
- Managing project risk
- Reviewing purchase invoices
- Contractual resolution management
- Pouring concrete
Skills and Experience required :
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the concrete / construction industry
- Proven experience in strong leadership with specific results managing a construction team
- Builder’s licence or similar relevant qualifications are advantageous
- Proven experience in concrete structures, suspended slabs & basement construction is essential
- Attention to detail is imperative
- Highly motivated & adaptable – “Makes things happen kind of person”
- Strong communicator with outstanding negotiation & relationship building skills
- Proven problem solving skills
- IT skills eg Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox
- Organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a challenging workload effectively
